So you'd like the catalog to include the beat preview, title, producer, etc.? If so, you'll probably have to abandon using the core catalog module and make one using Views. You can keep the catalog vocabulary and use that to filter what beats you show on a page... basically, if you clone your front page View, take away the header info, and use an argument to represent the term ID and show only products w/ that ID, it should work.
