Ryan, I know you mean well, but so do I. It's very easy to set up a webshop, also for people who have no previous experience in (online) trading. They would not be able to check if the VAT on the invoice is correct. If it isn't it could cost them a lot of money. It also wouldn't be good for the reputation of Ubercart.
The problem is that a generalized rule could cause such a faulty VAT calculation very easily. This is an article in Dutch that you can perhaps get the gist of from an online translator. It's about the risks of faulty VAT calculations output by the software. It has cost some companies millions of euro's.
