I have created a while back this issue - http://support.ubercart.org/case/80. I've looked in the code again. Converting back or at least adding rules integration seems a pretty straight forward task. It will even save the TODO of ca_conversion_page() from workflow-ng...

Again, if there will be an Ok from the Ubercart guys I'll be happy to help.
