I'll add one more comment regarding uc_recurring ... it does a great job if we're always on a model where a user renews their order at a specific time each month (or year, etc.).
However we have a number of users who either want to renew their subscriptions early (beneficial to us because it gets more revenue in the door sooner rather than waiting for their recurring fee to come due), or they wish to upgrade to a longer term plan (instead of buying our 1 month subscription product, they want to upgrade to 3 months), prior to the existing subscription coming due.
The uc_subscribe module does some of this (with the 'renew' and 'reorder' options), but is incomplete. It doesn't allow for mid-subscription upgrades. The uc_recurring / uc_roles combination doesn't really do it at all as far as I can see. Having insight into the long-term goals for these things would be extremely helpful. Thanks.
