Hi all,
Please excuse the newbie-ish naieve questions, but that's exactly what I am on this topic. I feel like there's got to be an easy solution to what I need...
Website will sell retail products and is currently in design. I have my merchant acct set up and currently use authorize.net's virtual terminal until the site is up and running, then will be real-time transactions. Cart is being custom designed by site designer. I think that's enough history to answer this question:
I want the returning buyer to be able to purchase with the credit card that I have stored from their last transaction, but without having to whip it out and re-enter the info. Authorize.net's CIM sounded to be the way to go (at $20/month) but I just spoke to them and they said that the credit card info is stored on MY SERVER which is something I'd prefer to stay away from if possible. However, If it truly is stored on my server, I don't think I should be paying auth.net a $20/month fee. I figure there's got to be some kind of software that can handle this, no?
What are my options?
Thanks so much!
