Well, what I mean - if not for ubercart2 then for ubercart3 - is to completely abandon CA. If user will want to trigger actions upon events she will need to install only Rules.

Project* is now undergoing major re-writing because it wants to use views functionality rather than it's own query builder. Same here - why invent something that already exists and it's IMO superior. (this is of course with all the respect to the CA developers ).
