Have sorted this out, I didn't realise that to get the attributes in there, it is a matter of adding the "Add to Cart" button. As all the attribute fields and option 'come attached' to that.

Using this in Contemplate does the trick...

<?php print $node->content['add_to_cart']['#value'] ?>
