Installing Ubercart

(for Ubercart beta & Drupal 5.x)

This section is our attempt to break down in layman's terms the installation process. If you're already familiar with Drupal (its installation process, installing modules, and so forth) follow the Installing Ubercart link. If you're new to Drupal, we recommend downloading the Ubercart Package or using the UberInstaller mentioned below. For a more detailed way of setting up Drupal & Ubercart goto the Installing Drupal link. Follow along and feel free to let us know of inaccuracies and confusing descriptions.

UberInstaller

For those daunted by the process of installing Drupal, modules, and Übercart or those looking for a test install of Ubercart, we've also created an installer, an UberInstaller if you will. The UberInstaller automates the entire process of downloading required files, installing Drupal, installing modules, setting up the first user, and running the installation script.

Note: Using the UberInstaller will not work with an existing installation of Drupal, follow the steps in Installing Ubercart to install Ubercart on an existing Drupal installation.

Ubercart Package

In addition to the UberInstaler, we also have created an ubercart package. This package is Drupal, Ubercart, and its required modules bundled together with the Drupal installer. Upon downloading the package, you can unpack the files to your webserver and run the installation script (install.php). Select the "Ubercart" on installation screen and allow the installer to do the rest.
