"How do I change the path to my catalog?" Or "Where did my catalog URL setting go?"

Site setup

In the update from alpha8 to beta removed the catalog URL in favor of Pathauto integration. Unfortunately, Lyle was an irresponsible developer and didn't preserve the data. Sad However, this is easily fixed.

On the Pathauto page under Site configuration, put path_to_catalog/[catpath-raw] in the Catalog Path Settings. "path_to_catalog" should be whatever you had set your catalog URL to be. Check the "Bulk generate aliases" box and click "Save configuration". It might run for a little while, but that's all you have to do to get back to the way it was.

Very useful tip! I see that

Very useful tip!
I see that many other settings like:
Default path pattern for News
Default path pattern for Page
Default path pattern
Permit to change the base Alias url also per language, it will be added also per CATALOG PATH SETTINGS? If not, why?

RE: Pathauto bulk alias creation

If bulk alias creation is not working, check Update action under General settings at admin/build/path/pathauto. If it's set to "Do nothing. Leave the old alias intact," change it. There are some mentions of this in the Pathauto queue.

some additional notes

I found I needed to delete the already created catalog addresses first, under 'delete aliases'.

I also needed to change the catalog path in the 'node path' settings on the 'automatic aliases' page (the same page as the 'catalog path' settings).

This fixed all my product categories, subcategories, etc. and automatic aliasing for any newly created products. However, I still needed to do two more things: 1) alias the root 'catalog' to my new path and 2) update the path aliases for all of my already created products in the content administration.
