After a little in office chat, we've decided to open up the issue tracker at Drupal.org (hereafter d.o) temporarily. We want to speed along toward the beta release but are having trouble nailing down any outstanding bugs/critical issues. Making this available will free up the time we would otherwise have to spend tweaking the issue tracker here at Ubercart.org to make it more useful. While we intend for the bulk of the support to happen through the forums, I want folks to know about the d.o issue tracker so it may be used appropriately.
Through our project page, you can post issues that will be tracked and moderated as with other Drupal modules or the Drupal project itself. However, we are only going to accept (respond to) actual bug reports or issues related to inaccurate/out of date documentation. This means support requests, feature requests, and brainstorming will be closed out and redirected to the Ubercart forums. The main goal of opening the issue tracker at d.o is to allow us to see at a glance who has what issue open and what priority level the issue should be. This also allows folks to more easily claim ownership of an issue and submit a patch in a familiar environment. Hopefully this has the added benefit of increasing our exposure on d.o in the short term.
Again, this will ideally be a short term solution until we can get a system operating here that provides us with more control. The issue tracker will stay open here, primarily for the benefit of contributions. We'll do our best to migrate outstanding bug reports over, but feel free to help out with any of your own (especially those with patches!
). Feel free to post any questions about the process or issue tracker here.
