Need quick help with checkout problem - unable to process credit card

I recently installed Drupal 5.6 and Ubercart (whatever version was available about a month ago), plus the latest PayFlow Pro payment module. I set it up, had some trouble getting the payflow pro module functioning, but successfully placed a couple of test orders through it last week. We were supposed to go live today, and when I placed a test order today, I got an error message:

------------
Review order
We were unable to process your credit card payment. Please verify your card details and try again. If the problem persists, contact us to complete your order.
------------

I've worked most of the day on this, double-checking all the settings (which I hadn't touched since doing those successful transactions last week). No improvement. Arrrggh!

I need a quote from someone who can take a look at my installation, tell me what I've done wrong, and more importantly, get it working ASAP.

Job parameters:
1 - Get PayFlow Pro functioning with the base Credit Card functionality.
And, optional:
2 - Help me understand why PayPal Express Checkout does weird things instead of working.

HELP!

Did you ever get these issues resolved?

No.

I've fallen back to using PayPal Standard for the short term. I am willing to pay someone to help me get PayFlow Pro working, but didn't get any response to a request last week in the bounties section. The PayFlow Pro module author sent one message saying he'd be willing to help, but I haven't heard back from him in two weeks.

Independent of the payment issue, I've spent an hour this morning searching for a solution to the issue of getting Ubercart to assign a role instantly when payment is received. I found several related threads, but I fear they are all over my head - I think they're talking about delving into the raw code of the modules. I can't figure out how to make the order automatically change to Completed status; now, I have to go in and manually change each order's status before the role assignment takes effect.

I would like to hire you to resolve these two issues, Ryan. I normally work 9-5 Eastern U.S. time. Interested?

I have worked as webmaster at a daily newspaper, a convention and visitor bureau, and currently at a magazine. I'm an HTML guy, not a coder, and the complexity of Ubercart has me running scared. I'm hoping my problems are easily solvable by someone with the knowledge.
