When a customer chooses "PayPal Express" as their checkout buy clicking on the "Checkout with PayPal" button on the Shopping Cart page the order will process just fine but the email that gets sent to the customer and to the site admin says this under shipping method:

Shipping method: Error calculating shipping

For both check/money order or credit card (also paypal) purchases the proper text comes through -- Standard Shipping.

How do I fix this?

Is the shipping selection at checkout working for you? (i.e. where PayPal directs them back to the Ubercart checkout to select a shipping method.)

PayPal Express comes at the "View Cart" page not the "Checkout" page. The whole idea behind express checkout is that customers doesn't have to use "our" shopping cart and give us their information.

Right, but during an express checkout session PayPal redirects customers back to your site where they should be clicking on a shipping button to get a shipping quote. It's part of the process when clicked from the cart page. (It's where they also enter a company name, phone number, and/or order comments.)

Okay this is new for me. I haven't been using shipping quotes before because shipping was free and we were only shipping to the US. But now we are shipping worldwide so I've enabled the shipping quote module to facilitate adding a shipping charge to Int'l shipments.

I just ran a "test" order and this is the email I received from PayPal.

Quote:

Very interesting... no, that shouldn't be happening. Sticking out tongue Granted, I've only been testing on the Sandbox server so they wouldn't be notifying me, but I assume other folks are using it without that trouble. Do you have a business account?

I guess I'd just call them...

Resolution Center

Received the same email also with PP Standard. Of course, thought it was spam and tossed it out. However in checking the PP account there are no open or closed cases in the Resolution Center. So no clue what the email was about.

Same issue with ubercart-7.x-3.0-beta3

This part works for me in paypal express. I get to the part where you select a shipping option, but no matter how many times, I try to select a shipping radio button and submit the order, the page refreshes with the error message: You must calculate and select a shipping option.

It works fine with the extended paypal workflow, where I checkout and fill in my address and confirm payment but not with the express checkout and return to select shipping option.
