PayPal and Shipping for non-shippable products

Hi,

two days before our shop is going to be online I ve got shocked by the fact that paypal adds a shipping to the bill for a file download.

Has anyone a suggestion where to break this?

the file has a price of 3.95 $ and paypal adds 3.00 $ of shipping. Crazy stuff... Need help urgently.

Best wishes,

Dee

heh That is troublesome... not really sure what you'll wanna do here. What PayPal service are you using? Also, have you specified any settings in your PayPal profile to add standard flat rate shipping prices in the past?

Hi Ryan,

finally I ve got paypal access and there is no shipping set. so it must be from one of the modules. Like I said it is the same thin for gcheckout.

Somewhere in submit order a weight have been added.

Thanks,

Dee

Is the product set to be shippable? IF the checkbox is unchecked it shouldn't be applying any shipping to it.

What shipping quote methods are you using? Weight / Region / Flat rate?

And just to doublecheck a few things,

You get the shipping calculated in the "Review order" screen as well? Or just after you've submitted the order and get redirected to PayPal?

Can you try it using just UPS, and again using just USPS? And let us know if you get the same result in both.

The order review seems good. no shipping rates nothing. But after submiting to paypal or gcheckout I got a shipping of 2,50 $

Even with UPS or USPS only.

Anyone knows where I could enter a shipping flat in paypal? maybe there is something but I couldn't find it. I am not used to paypal.

Best,

Dee

Yes, login to your PayPal account, and click the Profile link in the top tab navigation.

There are menu items on the right side, "Shipping calculations" and "Shipping preferences."

The Calculations screen is the one you want, you need to check one or all of your Shipping Method's checkboxes at this screen and see if you are calculating anything. You might need to turn on "Override shipping methods per transaction".

Hope this helps!
