Hello, I'm right now in a very difficult position. I updated the D6 dev version (12 Sep) to new dev (23 sep) but there were many errors after running update.php. I tried to uninstall it so I can reinstall it cleanly but many of the tables are still there. I know it won't be safe to delete just the uc_ tables but I cannot do anything else, can I? I want to reinstall it so maybe there will not be too many orphan variables and data on the tabase... Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Uninstall nightmare

Which tables were still there? The errors from update.php are unfortunate, but should be harmless. (It's basically trying to get you upgraded from the Drupal 5 version to the Drupal 6 version of Ubercart.) If hook_uninstall() isn't working correctly, that's a more serious issue.

Re: Re: Uninstall nightmare

Fortunately I use Zotero to save a whole list of contribs with their latest 3 versions. I just used a backup of the database and the 12 Sept dev version and everything is ok now. But that was close...

I do not understand why do you mean the update.php is trying to upgrade the D5 version to the D6. I started with a D6 installation and D6 Ubercart...

The problem was that the update did something weird, it changed just some of the tables and not all of them, so I suppose the remaining tables were those the new dev could not identify. Anyway it's solved, but I'm just a bit paranoid now. I upgraded Ubercart twice and this is the first time I had problems. Would it be safe to uninstall the old version and install the new one? I mean, I have no relevant info regarding ubercart right now on my website, and I would like to know at which point would be relatively "safe" to leave testing and start creating a production site. Thanks!

PS: by the way, why is it Übercart called? I mean that's half German (Überwagen) and without the Ü (umlaut) it should be Uebercart, it's just a bit confusing... Was the first developer German? Anyway, Ü looks like way cooler, as it seems with this font type a really happy face... ÜÜÜ
