Hello Ubercart Team

Thanks for your great module.

I want point you to the Ubercart Userpoints module.
Please have a look at the overhelming interest of people
in a D6 version of this module:

http://drupal.org/node/282582

As you can see, this is one of the "most wanted" modules at this moment.

I think the interest is even more general. What people need, and i am too,
is a way to attach the shop to a web 2.0 interface for "virtual credits".

Userpoints is the #1 way to do it (i don't think there is even such a module
beside it), fully included to other modules.

Is there a chance, a plan or something, to give ubercart a native interface to
userpoints?

It would be really perfect and as you can see, there is a big, big interest.

Re: Ubercart Usaerpoints

Honestly, I'd rather port and maintain my http://drupal.org/project/uc_store_credit. If you'd like to sponsor this, feel free to PM me.. someone had e-mailed me about it, but I haven't heard back.

Ryan!! Why am I just now

Ryan!!

Why am I just now seeing this module? (Granted it was only posted to CVS 3 days ago, but still...)

I recently posted the UC Gift Certificate module to d.o.: http://drupal.org/project/uc_gift_certificate - but I'm wondering if, in the next release, I should try integrating it with the uc_store_credit module? It seems like both of our modules do many of the same tasks regarding store credit; the only difference is, the certificates can be purchased by users for themselves, or for other users, and sent either electronically via email or as a printed certificate (that the store owner, as of now, has to manually find and print).

If you think these are projects that could either a) merge to become an even better store credit module, or b) take the certificate module's handling of credit out and invoke yours instead, let me know. I think that's probably the way to go, reduce overlap as much as possible, and make things better in the long run. Personally I'd rather the Gift Certificates module be a plugin for store_credit, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that.

We should discuss this soon, perhaps over Ethiopian food.

+1 to that!

I wrote the store credit module for a client a while back who wanted to release it, but I never got any feedback from him and haven't heard from him since. Sticking out tongue

The module lets you use any system to track store credit, as long as you write a pluggable handler. Right now it comes w/ an example of this integrating with the User Points module. It doesn't particularly care how a user gets store credit... it just wants to make sure you have enough when it comes time to checkout.

I can't remember if the module handles partial store credit as is or not. I had a gift card system written for WBR a while back that did, but I'll be darned if I still have that handy for reference. The gift certificate module could just create a way for users to punch their code into a form and call the store credit API func for adding store credit to a user.

If I'm not making sense, it's probably because my back hurts from my marathon day yesterday and I'm nearing the end of my attention span for today. Eye-wink At the very least, I'll have the lappy for us to check it out in DC. I think a two module approach will work best, but maybe I can get you in as a co-maintainer on the store credit module eventually... maybe some coaxing and an Uber tee to bribe ya into it.

Well, seems i hit the right time, or?

Please do a little default interface to userpoints, which is really wide used and
easy to extend - and voila alot people will be VERY happy (including me, so i feel
a bit selfish ..) Smiling

I think you kind of missed the point. Eye-wink It already is integrated with User Points. It's just not on D6 yet.

oops, i really missed that!

Well, if you ask in the thread i posted for sponsoring ( i have the feeling the original author is not much interested in d6) you will find some for a d6 version.

needed module

This is a very needed module, is there any roadmap or timeline set for D6?

Just to make sure i am reading this right, if i have userpoints installed and members get a user point for attending an event, making content, or voting. Than they can take 10 userpoints and purchuse an item from the store instead of real money, correct?

Re: needed module

Here is an issue for the Userpoints ubercart module that is referenced in the original post: http://drupal.org/node/282582. In it you'll find a patch to make the 5.x version of the module compatible with the latest 6.x of Ubercart.

Re: Ubercart Usaerpoints

The problem isn't that I do not have an interest in a D6 release of ubercart_userpoints, it is that I have not finished fixing the bugs in D5 and I am a little more concerned with school and graduating on time. As of right now I am also the only person doing development. If someone wants to help develop a D6 brach or fix the issues in D5, I will answer any questions about how the module works and if necessary grant CVS access.
