hi guys,
So, I need to disable some features.
The first is the creation of user accounts for the users when they check out - we don't want that.
How can I stop ubercart from carting customer accounts ?

Re: Post Checkout
I'm not sure you can stop it, but here's a thread on deleting the user account: http://www.ubercart.org/forum/support/15389/cron_automatically_delete_al... Why do you want it to not create a user account?
Re: Re: Post Checkout
Thanks for responding uberchic I not very experienced with ubercart yet but I don't see why I need customers to have accounts. Also, my clients don't really want anything but for the customer to add products to the cart and for their selections to be emailed to them (the supplier) and The suppliers then want to get in touch with the customers. They want no more interaction tahn that.
Re: Re: Re: Post Checkout
In Drupal, user accounts are a convenient place to store customer email addresses. Even if they never log in, it's a lot easier to create customer reports when you have a list of accounts rather than a bunch of email addresses attached to orders. It's possible to turn off all of the automatic notifications when Ubercart creates the accounts, so the customers should be none the wiser.
Thank you Lyle,
can you tell
Thank you Lyle, can you tell me how to disable the automatic notifications ? Sorry if this is more of a drupal question than it is ubercart.
Re: Thank you Lyle,

admin/store/settings/checkout/edit/basic uncheck "New customer accounts will be set to active." and "Send new customers a separate e-mail with their account details"
But its yet create account
After making such configuration [ admin/store/settings/checkout/edit/basic uncheck "New customer accounts will be set to active." and "Send new customers a separate e-mail with their account details" ] , it just stop to send mail to new customer but create the his account with block status. Have anyone found the solution of this ?
Re: But its yet create account
I do agree but Customers do not like being forced to register on the site to purchase an item. We have scraps some customers they just go to another site or drive to a store to find the same item, simply because they are being asked to register. Many of the records associated with potential beneficiary SPAM or junk mail.
Re: Re: Re: Post Checkout
I completely agree with Sisco. The system must be as simple as possible for the customers. If they have to spend their time on registration they may find some other place to buy. To make it as simple as possible is one of the principles of successful sales or any other activity where a lot of people involved. I read a book about it. It is a very useful book. So many good tips about sales. |
