I see so much spam and other stuff at this site that it looks like no one is modrating the boards... Is this a sign or am i wrong ?
That's a good question. I've seen most of the discussion move over to drupal.org. (Although I must admit I prefer how Ubercart let's me know of updates to my subscriptions... I've never been able to get d.org to do it.)
There's a lot of activity on the Drupal site so I'd imagine UC is far from dead other wise no one would be updating it any more. I'm sure some people headed over to Drupal Commerce BUT for a non programmer that system is far from ready.
If you need a more feature rich cart when there are other systems out there. I tried going back to Zencart a few weeks back but even though it has way more standard features then UC I just couldn't stand the template system and all the folders that you need to traverse to make changes. If you don't need tons of features when UC is still a good choice especially if you use Drupal.
Now I think it would be in the projects best interest to have this site updated as the front page is looking stagnant update wise.
Personally I've been able to squeeze a lot of features out of Ubercart. We've got some pretty complex sites running on it, and that with very little changes to basic modules. D.org has a done of stuff not found here. I think uc.org might be fading away as a meeting ground for Ubercart users...
I should have said UC is basic in a sense that it doesn't come with 100 installed features like say Zencart. There are UC stores out there that have a ton of features for the buyer. For me as a d/UC user I prefer the basic install and then have the option to add features as this way I can learn the ins and out better when with something that already comes with tons of add-ons enabled.
The best feature of UC is Drupal. You have the option of a fully featured CMS integrated into your store unlike the other carts where you have to Mickey Mouse set up using bridges with shop to cms.
Don't get me wrong, i really like Ubercart but the boards here are not moderated among other things. I do hope this community keeps posting here to keep all the good info at one place.
I wonder if they could import the issue list on Drupal.org into the forums? This way the forums would fill up nicely with always fresh content.
Agreed. It's very natural for me to use Drupal.org for both my Drupal and UberCart needs. It'd be better for the UberCart issues to be mirrored on this site and viceversa.
I am noticing that the repository for Ubercart3 has not been updated since 17th of February, and that all the updates seem to have been committed only by one person. Could maybe be due to that one person have to review all changes who have had no time recently? Anyway, this does make an otherwise healthy project seem like it has died. Anyone who have contact with the person committing the changes to UC3 who can ask what happening? Anyway, Ubercart 2 is working really well - so no big concern! Yet I would love to hear more of what is happening with UC3 - maybe it is just that UC2 is working too well?
I posted on Drupal.org and TR told me to contact Andy so I did but haven't gotten a reply back. I've also contacted Lyle a few months back using this sites contact form but no reply. I've even offered to do news updates. http://drupal.org/node/1164144
UC if far from dead as there are quite a view commits on the Drupal site but the owner of this site need to ether assign someone to maintain the news update or do it himself. I know people are busy with their daily lives but would be a wast to see the site go as its probably scared away more new users because of the lack of site updates.

?? I don't know where you get your information, but there have been over 360 commits to the repository since 17 Feb, comprising changes to thousands of lines of code. There have been changes made almost every single day since then. And changes have been made by 7 different committers in the time since 17 Feb. Drupal.org statistics show Ubercart as one of the *most* active projects. I don't see how any reasonable person can come to the conclusion that Ubercart is dead.
I was not thinking it was dead - however I was reading this thread, then checking the commit history at: http://bazaar.ubercart.org/history_7.php
and checking the dates on the folders within: http://bazaar.ubercart.org/drupal7-uc3/ubercart/
I got to those repository links from http://www.ubercart.org/downloads and clicking the link for the Development version on that page: http://bazaar.ubercart.org/
It this is not the actively maintained repository, please update.
The Ubercart project is at http://drupal.org/project/ubercart
The repository and issue queue may be reached from links on that page.

Problem is as you can see from this site that not everyone knows that you can post issues on Drupal.org and I think a lot of people come to this site for their info. When the project info/news on the site is almost a year old people start to ask questions about the status of the project.
I got no replies from the powers that be about the sites update so I'm just gonna leave it at that. I guess I could always start my own UC project website
I'd love it if UberCart threads/comments posted on Drupal.org were automatically copied here and vice versa. I spend most of my time on drupal.org and I am sure many others do too. This fact alone is why ubercart.org forum activity pales to that of drupal.org.
Drupal itself support triggering actions such as sending e-mails whenever comments are added. You could probably send this e-mail to an email account with a Procmail filter (or monitored by RT (Request Tracker) or similar); which automatically validate such messages and update the other forum with said message. I have also used Continuous Integration software (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuous_Integration) to constantly monitor repositories and automatically checkout code when updated for so performing actions on that code. In this case we need maybe nothing more than monitoring the drupal repository at drupal.org and simply mirror the code and comment updates to ubercart.org's repository.
Alternatively why not simply update the links for the repository under ubercart.org's download page to the active development under drupal.org? It might also be smart to mention that most of the team check issues, bugs, and so on mainly on .
Agreed, there needs to be a better way to show the level of activity of ubercart when discussed on drupal.org, they should be treated separately. Mirroring sounds like a great idea.

Well that would require one of the people who has admin access to the UC site to actually reply back to my requests for updates. I'm quite busy atm but I am setting up a site for Drupla Ecommerce modules at http://www.drupalecom.com Was thinking of having a central forums and module pages for each of the following module UC, D Commerce and Drupal E-commerce. Iw as thinking of using rss feeds to grab paosts from Drupal.org and inserting them into mysite. Also just like on Drupal I'd have a module page with updates version info.
If anyone is wanting to help let me know.I have to get a commercial site going in the next week so at least this week I have no time to work on that site but I'd like to get it going ASAP to start bringing in traffic and user contributions.
Although having a centralized means to track all of Drupal's E-commerce offerings/activity. I already find it difficult/bothersome to have to use both drupal.org and ubercart.org, a third site would be too much for me. This is only my opinion, its still a good concept though, and am interested to see what comes of it.
