Upgrade path?

Greetings,

Been a while since I've been around here or checked up on the Ubercart - congrats on keeping this bad boy rolling all the way to Beta 4! Very exciting!

A question: I have a site that is still on Alpha7e (embarrassingly enough) - what should the upgrade path to the current Beta4 be? Can I upgrade directly? Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks guys. I hope to get back into the flow around here.

Take care,

jimi

I'd say back up the db and go for it. Eye-wink Depending on what modules you're using, you may have to make some special adjustments to settings and module locations, because there have been some changes that will require you to resubmit settings forms and such. I can't even remember if 7e used Workflow-ng. Sticking out tongue

Your best bet will be to go back through the announcement threads to see what new modules may be required and which settings may "disappear" when you upgrade.

I notice there's no longer a uc_manufacturer folder in the main /ubercart folder - I assume this has moved elsewhere - can I delete the old folder?

Thanks

Could that upgrade have possibly gone any smoother?

I think not.

Thanks for your help guys. I need a new client who wants e-commerce so I can develop a new Ubercart site soon!

Would you like do describe a little bit how you upgraded ubercart? You didn't have to do a lot of re-setting many options? Did all the modules work right away? What about old database entries?

A "Help to Upgrading" would help a LOT of people i am sure. We could start one. I need to upgrade too but i am still to afraid. Its all running so fine. Smiling
