Free Room at Drupalcon 2008

Ryan and I are heading to Drupalcon 08 in Boston. We reserved a three person room at a hostel 1.9 miles from the convention center called the YWCA: http://www.ywcaboston.org/berkeley/index.html

We have decided to give away the third spot as a prize in a contest!! The contest rules are simple. Post to this thread on and flatter, threaten, boast, plead, or in some other way convince us you are the most deserving to win. Any argument will be considered. Ryan and I will choose a winner based solely on our personal opinion. Ryan has stated that his vote will be heavily influenced by the best Drupal or Ubercart related Haiku. I am looking for the most creative / humorous post. If anyone decided to get an Ubercart logo tattooed on their body, they automatically win!

So sharpen your wit, search wikipedia for the number of syllables in a Haiku and toss your hat in the ring!
Peace,
Andy

A student of mine, David Needham, has given an Ubercart tutorial session at DrupalCampWI, and he's really trying to go to this con, so I'll write a Drupal-related one on his behalf:

The drop always moves
Going forward, shedding waste
(Wait, that sounds like pee.)

I am David Needham and a student at Bradley University. As my professor has pointed out, I have presented an interactive walk-through with Ubercart for the attendees at DrupalCampWI, and hope to be presenting again this very night at another mid-western conference at UIUC. As a student, cost for the Boston con is my biggest issue - bringing me here.

Drupal rocks CM
Ubercart pwns e-commerce
Combined, I get babes

Oops, so I just realized that I did not actually submit a "haiku" and instead submitted a "senryu".

Here is my resubmission:

First was Dreamweaver
I learned Drupal in the fall,
My new dream is free

So cold
is winter.
Drupal warms.

Kigo, kireji, and 17 moji. A traditional haiku for a nontraditional tool.

(With thanks to unrealnighthawk for Japanese assistance.)

hah After reading the Wikipedia article on haiku, I decided to go with the good ol' 17 English syllables... perhaps I should get Lyle to help me out w/ Japanese on my next one. Sticking out tongue

Hopefully we can help get you here. I'm going to try e-mailing you, but try to get in touch today about the room so we can work out the details.

haha Speaking of which... I guess we could've offered the free room to family before offering it to total strangers. Eye-wink
