About to build my website using drupal and ubercart. Was wondering if anyone could comment on using drupal 6 and ubercart 2 at this stage? I am going to be using Paypal WPS to start so it shouldn't be to taxing on the code....

Re: Has anyone tested ubercart 2 on a live site?

I was just going to ask the same question Smiling

I've got 2 sites to build over the next few weeks both drupal/ubercart sites.

All our past sites have been drupal 5, ubercart 1 but i think it's about time we moved on to Drupal 6 and ubercart 2.

So is ubercart 2 ready for live sites? I really want to use it since drupal 5 is getting pretty old now, and drupal 6 has so many lovely new features.... But i have to make a convincing argument or we'll be using drupal 5.

We won't be building anymore Drupal 5 sites, the issue you may run into is Ubercart contrib modules being updated. They shouldn't be too hard to upgrade, but if you use 6 ubercart contribs and they are not available for Drupal 6 then you will have a small issue. I know there are some live Ubercart 2 sites. I remember someone was doing it months ago with limited functionality. Just keep on top of the beta releases and you will be good.

Sounds great, the boss seems keen.

The main function i need in the first site i'm building is xml import. We're going to set it up so each day all the site content gets updated automagically. Are there any known problems with this in ubercart 2?

Cheers,

m

unfortunately due to the theme i chose to use being only available for drupal 5 the site was built with Ubercart 1.

Its still pretty cool though...

Re: Has anyone tested ubercart 2 on a live site?

I'd strongly recommend to go the Drupal 6 / Ubercart 2 route. The extra flexibility of Views 2 makes it all worth wild. All other drupal modules I use have been upgraded to Drupal 6 except for some Ubercart shipping modules, which if I really need, I'll upgrade myself.

I personally will not be going to Drupal 5 ever again.
