Hello all,

As part of a re-development of ActiveState's ecommerce back-end, I am about to start work on a payment gateway for Ubercart that will use the IP Apps API. Some background:

Who tf is IP Apps?

https://www.ipapplications.com/

Put simply, they're a payment gateway backend vendor who specialize in recurring / subscription payment. In particular ( and of particular interest to us ) they are PCI / DSS compliant, which means they are qualified to securely hold clients' payment information.

We decided to partner with them for a number of reasons:

1. we're too small / lazy to get PCI compliance ourselves. It's hard!
2. they're right down the street
3. they are keen to work with us on developing a solution
4. they were even keener when it was suggested we use Ubercart / Drupal and open source the integration layer, as this provides them with a potential new market.

I'm new here, but I imagine this sort of thing might be of interest to some Ubercard users. I'm keen to develop the payment gateway in the open and have it be useful to others for the simple pragmatic reason that the more people that use the code, the better it will be. If you have any comments or questions, let me know. Unless I hear from someone that this subject is completely OT for this forum, I'll post back on my progress and code as I go along.

cheers, Jeff Griffiths
