Uber team -
We've got a couple clients who are wanting to cosponsor quickbooks development. I wanted to see who else is interested in the development and/or have clients who have mentioned they would be willing to throw in a couple hundred dollars to get things started. I think if we group some resources($) we could get the development off the ground.

I'm starting up a new business and might be interested in pitching in for this, but it wouldn't be until the spring. It will also depend on what exactly is meant by "integration". We'll be using the Quickbooks Online Edition. Does this mean that sales data can be automatically imported into QB?

I dunno... our use here is pretty specific, QuickBooks Pro 2006. I know desktop versions of QuickBooks are all compatible w/ qbxml + the Web Connector, but I don't know about the online edition.

I'm not 100% sure about the online version either. The clients interested in raising money are using the new Pro/Premier 2008 version. I imagine including the online version would not be too difficult. It may involve an extra step on your end to integrate it into Ubercart, such as exporting the database to a folder on your PC and then uploading to UC. But, the long term goal would be to have it all automated of course.

- I'll double check with our programmers to get a better idea of what it will involve...

I have been interested in the QB integration for some time now and am willing to participate financially in a solution that would 1) fit our needs, 2) help the general public, and 3) make Ubercart a better cart.

Our needs are pretty much as follows:

  • PHP 5
  • OOP
  • Using QB Pro 2005+ with Web Connector
  • Classes that are Drupal independent and easily adapted into other PHP solutions
(We want the Ubercart for a front and already have PHP intranet application that is non-Drupal)
