I'm into PHP/MySQL - Drupal

If I could just get a sample Hello World module

then

I could learn to contribute useful modules

For example, I would love for the cart to tell me how much a certain coupon has generated in discount. So I may know EXACTLY how much I've given in Discount for a PARTICULAR coupon.

Please advise.

You can find some tutorials on how to develop modules over at drupal.org After you're familiar with the process with how to create modules for drupal, you can make use of both the Ubercart APIs and Drupal APIs to develop your module.
