Re: Top Ten Mistakes of Shopping Cart Design Revisited:
Thanks Alex, excellent information. According it ubercart is wrong asking the address and personal data before offering the final price incluiding shipment and taxes. Maybe is not so wrong anyway, considering and on most issues ubercart is compliant
Re: Re: Top Ten Mistakes of Shopping Cart Design Revisited:
It sounds like the big problem with giving out personal information before getting the final tax and shipping costs have more to do with credit card information than anything. With Übercart and it's one-page checkout, you only have to put in the delivery address to get taxes and shipping.
Shipping Quote
Lyle is right, Ubercart only needs a shipping address to calculate a quote, but I think many people will see the cart page, not realize that they don't have to enter their payment info, and abandon their cart. I think we need a "shipping quote" feature similar to what we have setup on our restaurant equipment site. If you go to the site and add an item to the cart, you can get a shipping quote simply by entering your zip code at the bottom of the cart page. The option to display the shipping quote at the bottom of the cart and or in a block would be nice. |
