Hi

I checked your section on tutorials, and there is only two.

I - like many others are new to drupal and ubercart. This does not make it easier I understand.

What I am struggling so bad with is the following:

- How do I create a top tabbed menu? (Store, Contact us, About, etc)
- How do I separate static nodes (contact/about) from the pages (store) that should be designed for the products?
- How do I get to the CSS that changes the menu for the catalog?
- How do I make the catalog.... etc.

I really don´t get it, and I wonder if anyone could make screen casts? You know just easy ones, not trying to make it professional, just show the basics. This is a great example not trying to create great, just good (but still awesome):

Screen casts are actually easier than writing a manual, and it is ten times easier to learn that way. Solving one problem at the time. Or why not like this one: http://xalking.com/drupal/psd-drupal-theme-tutorial-part-i
But video.

If you had ten videos, designing the page from PSD to Ubercart, that would be soooo coool! If you do so, please don´t start with some internal theme. As a designer it is more valuable to start like the from PSD to Drupal guide. Don´t underestimate the value of video, it really is ten times easier than reading a manual.

Sincerely yours!

Re: Too few tutorials. Video tutorial needed so bad

I think you'll have better luck looking for general Drupal tutorials. We don't have any themers in our office, and we don't really have time to make screencasts. Eye-wink There are good resources out there for theming Drupal sites, though, so you should search around Drupal.org or in Google for those.

Documentation is good, and lots of people are working on adding to the Ubercart documentation on an almost daily basis.

However, all your questions (except setting up a Catalog) are really questions/problems with DRUPAL, not with Ubercart. Ubercart is a set of modules which run within Drupal, so you really need some familiarity with Drupal in order to effectively use Ubercart.

So, although there are deficiencies in the current Ubercart documentation, I think your proposed projects about theming etc. are more properly addressed on drupal.org.

As for Ubercart-specific stuff, here are two videos that show you how to set up a store:

It would be helpful if you could view them and follow along, then post feedback about what you found lacking in the explanations.

Ubercart Tutorials

I've started an Ubercart video series that shows you how to setup a store with catalogs, products, image support, paypal integration, and shipping quotes. Check it out, I hope it helps.
