Merge with drupal ecommerce module

Is there a plan to merge the two projects?

hehe Tempted to answer w/ an April Fool's Day inspired "Yes", but no, there isn't and most likely won't ever be a merger. We may try to work toward common ground in the future, but that hasn't been a focus during the initial development.

I'm asking this since today, while trying openresort (which is an amazing module), I noticed ecommerce module is not dead at all.
Thus, since drupal's force resides in it's lack of redundant modules, I guess it would be a wise step.
