I just saw that the Amazon Flexible Payments Service (Amazon FPS) service is out of beta and has a nice offer: no fees on transactions for 90 days for transactions up to $500,000.

That seems nice!

I'd also personally love to see more competition in this space. I don't really know how these systems work - would this be another payment gateway for Ubercart? Is it even possible or reasonable for someone to try to build this?

Re: Integration with Amazon Flexible Payments Service (Amazon FP

Very nice! Thanks for the heads up, Greg. I looked through it, and these look like hosted payment services comparable to PayPal's Website Payments Standard. As such, I think they'd operate as payment methods, but like PayPal's Express Checkout I'm not sure you'd make them available on the checkout form itself. More like an image button on the cart page.

Their introductory offer is quite attractive, and since Amazon has like 60 million users already, this could be huge. Especially noteworthy is the fact that it can be used for building marketplace e-commerce sites where you take a cut of all transactions processed through your site. People have been wanting to do this in UC for some time, but it just hasn't been possible till now.

Excellent. Cool

another thing also the FPS allow you to create very flexible payment structures. especially when you want to create a system where there is a revenue share system example www.ozmo.com user put their licenses for sale they get 70% of revenue ozmo get 30% beside FPS does ubercart as a feature like that I m not sure

Currency Symbol,Ebs and shipping

Hi Ryan,
Please help me,urgently i need these functionalites in ubercart2.x with drupal6

1.In the View cart page,Check out page and Review order page i need the currency symbol depanding on the logged in users country. If the user is India then the currency symbol should be in INR.Other than India it should be in Doller($).The same currency symbol,i need in shipping module too.(Calculate the shipping cost based on the country selection. If i select India the shipping cost should be in INR. For US it should be in $(Doller).)

2.EBS module - based on the country selection the payment method should be selected by default in checkout page using ubercart2.x
If the logged in user is in India then the payment method should be in EBS mode by default otherwise Paypal method should be selected.

3.Discount module with multiple currency option using ubercart2.x
The total price should be calculated based on the Product price + Shipping amt+discount amt.

Thanks in advance

Regards,
Roopa.

I want this

If anyone is already working on this I can offer my help. I've been coding in PHP for a *long* time and been setting drupal sites for awhile. Just started coding mods though. But I'm willing to help out, test, whatever to get this out the door.

Re: Integration with Amazon Flexible Payments Service (Amazon FP

I've thrown a demo site up at http://amazon.commerceguys.com for my Ubercart / Amazon Payments integration. Right now it's just supporting Amazon Simple Pay, but assuming that gets certified by Amazon within the next few days I should dive right into FPS integration. Can't wait!

Amazon FPS status?

Hey Ryan:

We have 4 Ubercart sites I'd love to start integrating with Amazon FPS. I see the status on your test site, and wonder if you are close to wanting a beta tester?

Amazon FPS

Hey Ryan!

Checked for this in contrib - do you have this code available still somewhere? Looks like the demo site is still up so I'm hoping you can help there. We might have the funding to make FPS integration into a reality.

Hi, Ryan,

Any progress on this? I'm developing a marketplace site using your Ubercart marketplace module. After some research on Paypal, I'm trying to stay away from it, and instead use Amazon Flexible Payment service.

thanks,

Questions about FPS

My company (Bloom Apps) is sending out an initial round of beta invites on July 31. We'll be busy with QA, adding features, and so on... but sometime in the next couple months, we'll need to integrate a payment/checkout system.

FPS sounds really great... but one question I have that isn't clear to me is this: do people have to leave your website and make an Amazon account, or can they stay on your website through the whole process?

If anyone has experience with FPS, I'd love to hear your reaction. My big concern is that leaving the site (as with PayPal) reduces conversion rates, arguably.

Thanks so much! Incidentally, if you are interested in our beta, feel free to come by our website, sign up, and we'll get an invite out to you asap.

any updates on a module for Amazon FPS?

Is it planned to support the multiple payment recipient functionality of FPS?

Something must have gone wrong because this seems to have fallen off the charts.

Its a shame this died because it seemed so close! Also this would be an extremely useful checkout feature. Maybe someone will be willing to finish it for some cash.

i think quite a few people need this. Just not quite sure why it died. Seemed like they were working on it hard...had something close to live going, and then nothing. No comments on the topic at all. No reason for stopping. Maybe if they don't do an amazon module, there's more money to be had integrating this feature for people?

Amazon FPS

We are looking for someone who knows how to integrate Amazon FPS with Ubercart.

This is the only system I see out there which can allow customers to select items from multiple vendors in one shot, hold the charge until shipment of product or date service is rendered and keep a commission for us to maintain the system.

We are a nonprofit who in one line could be thought of as "The Virtual Goodwill Industries." We have a good Drupal developer, server, sys admin, and project management system. We are not cash rich, but we are passionate and fully committed to this as we have over 5000 hours invested.

see www.theportalusa.org for an idea.

Working on Amazon FPS with Ubercart Marketplace

So I've got a job I'm working on to implement this. Will distribute funds at time of purchase to various recipients, and will eventually also do deposits - partial payment now with the rest later. It will not be connected with the receiver reports as the Paypal version is.

Also, we have a very different commission setup requirement than Ubercart Marketplace does, so I will probably do a basic version that uses the product cost field like UC Marketplace and provide a hook so people can do something else.

I'm going to be working in earnest on this in the coming weeks. If anybody has a parallel project, maybe we can share. I will post this on the Ubercart Marketplace issue queue as well.
