Wanted to share my latest Drupal/Ubercart project The Silk Drapery Company.

The site uses Ubercart 1x, various modules, and the theme was purchased from TopNotchThemes(Luxe). I ended up changing some of the elements in the theme, as well as changing colors.

The Silk Drapery Company sells high-end luxury window drapes & hardware.

Feedback is appreciated (positive and negative). Also happy to answer any questions. Thanks and happy developing!

Thanks Ubercart!

Overall for a quick look it is graphically nice.

One of my pet issues with a lot of sites is that there is no quick way to see where you are located. Folks will not take the time to drill down in FAQ to find that information and you could loose a sale.

As a suggestion, place your business information in the footer of each and every page. If not there, then it should be a part of your 'contact us' form. Just add a address, phone, etc to that page. i.e. the more ways you can build up trust with your viewers, the better the possibility they will actually buy something IMO.

Nice! How did you setup the swatch attribute? I am working on a site that has different prices for each product and the owner would like to sell swatches, where EACH is $5. Did you use a specific module for this, or adjust a negative attribute price PER ITEM for the swatch? Seems like that would be a lot of work to do it manually for every item!

Thanks,
Chum

Thanks all!

For swatches I had to get a little tricky. What I ended up doing was using the attribute module of course, subtracting the price that would equal the price I wanted to charge for the swatch.

Example, if you are selling DVD's for $10, and you want to sell just the DVD case for $1 ... under the product attribute options you would insert "-9" for the case. $10 -$9 = $1. Hope that makes sense!

That seems to make sense. But I'm curious, when I enter a negative price, it shows that negative price in the dropdown list instead of the actual final price that the item will cost.

You've got to go into the attributes configuration and change the "attribute settings" to display total price instead of price adjustment.

That is indeed a marvelous site! Is this a modified TNT theme? I love it regardless. Laughing out loud

One question...

How did you setup your shipping quotes so that the customer can order sample lengths with cheaper shipping, but standard shipping costs if the cart also contains regular length items?

Thanks,

Good question Chum!

The way I did it will probably not work for you, as it's barely working for me.

I created a free shipping option for orders under $25 or so. Essentially, if their order is under $25 the only option they get for shipping is free.

There is probably a better way, but we were at a time/budget crunch.

Depending on which shipping method you use, you may be able to assign your attributes a lower weight.

Thanks for looking!

Looks great - the shopping cart block is well done.

I've sense used views to display products rather than the catalog module. The reason why is I needed a way for customers to filter out content as well as sorting by certain fields.

I'm going to try and document the way I themed product views as well as set up the sorts as soon as possible. Does one already exist? Thanks!
