Hello,
I have just a general question. Do anybody know some module for basic drupal (without Ubercart) that would have similar result as a uc_catalog? Meaning that it would create a taxonomy structure as sidebar menu and even in main $content region.
Maybe this could be even somehow done with Views module (perhaps with arguments?), but I didn't find out how to.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Have you tried Taxonomy

Have you tried Taxonomy Menu? I haven't used it myself, but it seems like it might help...

Re: Have you tried Taxonomy

Actually I did, a while ago with no good impresion on that module. I heard then that it could be used with Views, but I didnt test it very well last time. This time I did and it seems that it work very well, even supports Path auto and breadcrumbs. Thanks for suggestion :]

PS: It seems to me that Taxonomy menu could be very well used even with Ubercart to replace current uc_catalog module. Maybe good way for further development to include Views in Module dependencies and set it to work as default catalog after installing Ubercart. Anyway I didn't test it yet, so maybe there is some obstacle. Hopefully I will make some time to test it and report in following days..

Re: Re: Have you tried Taxonomy

Yeah, I actually just started using this module myself and had a very good experience. I think it would be a wonderful progressive enhancement... perhaps the catalog module could be nothing more than a glue module that combines the functionality of various Drupal modules. Puzzled

I'm using it on http://www.szramaclan.com for photo galleries.
