I am setting up my first website with Ubercart with a single file download product. I already configured this product a while ago, setting up Ubercart to enable the file to be downloaded when an order went to the "completed" status, and everything worked just fine.
Now I need to change this so the file is made available on the "PayPal pending" order status BUT I can't remember how to do this. I have a vague recollection of how I did it the first time but everywhere I look I can't see something that resembles what I used to set this up initially.
A post elsewhere from another user asks something similar showing some screen shots that look very much how I remember doing this before but it appears (from Lyle's reply) that this way of doing this is now handled differently—by "conditional actions".
Now I don't yet know whether this means a conditional action is already set up to handle this, or whether we have to set up our own conditional actions to release files to users at a particular order status. If the former, I can't see where I need to change it; if the latter, I have no idea how to set this up and I can't find any documentation that clearly explains how conditional actions work.
Therein lies a problem: the original way of doing this was so very nice and simple—use a simple drop down box on the product features screen to indicate what order status the file should be released to the customer; the conditional actions screen, however, is one of the most confusing screens I have ever used in my life. No offence to the creator but I have to be honest about my personal experience. I am sure it is a very powerful and useful feature, so I am glad of having it, but the available documentation I have seen so far (on text and the help) does not clarify much for me how to use it (though that may be my fault).
I fully plan on investing time to fully understand and appreciating conditional actions and I will contribute what I learn to the Ubercart community, but right now I urgently need to be able to change the order status that releases a file download from "completed" order status to "Paypal pending" status.
Can someone explain how I can do this in words a newbie to conditional actions can understand?
