I want to list content and some thumbnail product images/links (as featured products) on the home page of my Ubercart site. Promoting items to the front page is not a good solution because they are not shown as thumbnails.
It seems that the only way to do this is create some sort of 'Home Page Features' category and tell Ubercart that this category page should be used as the site's home page.
In doing so, this 'Home Page Features' category will show up in the dynamic catalog category display. I don't really want this, as the only way people should be getting back to the home page is by clicking 'Home.'
Is there a way to hide categories (that contain products) from showing up in the dynamic navigation? Or, any easy way I am overlooking, that allows me to display some products as thumbnails (in grids) on the home page?
