ok so i had to switch hosts. but the restore process isn't going well at all. after many headaches of errors and screaming, i managed to get most of my site restored. but, ubercart isn't going to well. figured it could be something with my backed up ubercart, i uploaded a fresh copy, but get nowhere either. is there something on my server that is preventing me from activating the module? or something in the database which i restored that could be giving me issues? i checked for old paths that need to be updated to the new paths, and everything seems ok.

uber confused ... (no pun intended i uber quite a few times actually hehe)

Re: can't activiate ubercart on my new host?

Could you be a little more descriptive? What exactly happens when you try to activate it? Do you ge an error of some sort? If so, can you paste it here?

I do know that, for instance, the authorize.net module requires that you have cURL installed. If you don't have that library it's pretty easy to have your hosting company install it for you. And if they won't install it then they're not a very good host.

ok i'm convinced it's not ubercart causing me this headache. i noticed i get these issues witout ubercart even installed. not sure what it is exactly that's wrong either, so it's a little frustrating. i thought it was a php memory issue, again, but having it up to 164M and still have blank screens is odd. basically i'm stumped, and can't get drupal running the way i had it with my last host, so either i have to drop drupal or drive myself even more nuts trying to figure this out haha

So it's just a White Screen of Death? Follow this guide:
http://drupal.org/node/158043

And see if you can figure it out. First thing you need to have happen, I think, is turn on Error reporting (search that document for how) and then once we actually see the error we can figure out what's causing it.

You might also be able to see the error in your Watchdog (DBlog in D6) which will help solve the issue.

Re: Re: Re: Re: can't activiate ubercart on my new host?

basically i'll post what i put up on the drupal forum

"ok ... so. sadly i must update that i have dropped my website. it was just becoming too much of a pain. almost a week of dealing with my last host, backing everything up, transferring, encountering this issue, and other little things, seems a bit of a waste of time for me. i loves drupal and everything it does, but it really sucked up a lot of time this week. instead, i'm going to use other sites which host photos and blogs, this way i can really concentrate on photos and material instead of database issues and php memory Sticking out tongue

thanks for all the help :)"

if you want to see the entire tread about this issue: http://drupal.org/node/471850

loved ubercart, but maintaining a website was becoming just too aggravating for me, maybe one day i'll come back though. will not forget the ubercart hehe

That's a shame. It's worth all the work (and sometimes you have to hire people to do things for you...) Well, good luck, and if you decide to come back, we'll be here.
