If I edit a submitted order as an admin, it appears I can delete items from the order or add new ones into it. What if I need to edit an item to change the attribute values submitted by the user?

I agree that there needs to be a way to do this... I know that the uc_node_checkout module allows this, along with a lot of other flexibility, but I hate to add that whole extra layer of complexity when all I want to do is edit some values.
My bet would be that the Drupal 7 version will use fields for attributes, and that will facilitate editing. But I can't wait that long. Is there an existing module that will provide this functionality?
