Hello,

Is it possible to set a base shipping rate for each product?

What my customer wants is that each product costs $5 to ship the first, and $3 for each additional item. Here are some numbers that might help this make sense.

Product A: $5 for the first $3 for each additional.
Product B: $5 for the first $3 for each additional.

Order 1
Customer orders Ax2 & Bx1. Shipping = (first A) $5, (second A) $3, (first B) $5 = (total shipping) $13

Order 2
Customer orders Ax2 & Bx2. Shipping = (first A) $5, (second A) $3, (first B) $5, (second B) $3 = (total shipping) $16

Thanks in advance!

Re: Base Shipping Per Product

Yes. That is very easy to set up. Check out the documentation.

Re: Re: Base Shipping Per Product

I have a question related to this. Why if you set up flat rate shipping do you still need to generate a shipping quote. For me the problem I have is my customers only see the delivery charge once they have entered their address, which has no relevance to the shipping method used. I decided to add the quote to the cart, but again it requires customer to enter address details. I hope I am making sense here. Basically if I have flat rate shipping, to me it doesn't make sense that the shipping charge cant be shown in the cart without having to enter an address??

This is driving me crazy Smiling

Re: Re: Base Shipping Per Product

I had read that link, LoveGolf. I guess what I came across there is that Working-ng (which is prevalent in those instructions) has been replaced with Conditional Actions. It makes it much less clear. And I'm not familiar with the CA module. For instance I've been trying to set a conditional action such that "when shipping is calculated check the items in the cart, if there are multiple items of a certain class, add $2 multiplied by the number of items in that class". But those options just aren't available.

I'll keep trying, but if any other suggestions pop up, I'd be glad to read them. Thanks!
