Can Ubercart be used so that one can only become a registered user via payment? ie, we stick to only two roles - anonymous and authenticated - can someone become an authenticated user only through buying a role? Thanks!

I havnt seen this option. You can move up or down a role depending on payment/expiry etc. Maybe you could change the authenticated to be really restricted and until the user has "completed signup" etc at which point they become "approved" role?

That's a thought. I'm having a devil of a time figuring out how to deliver scheduled content to individual users. It might be worth just buying a Wordpress plugin that does it and use Wordpress instead.
