I am working on a conversion of a site to Ubercart. The catalog has only a couple dozen products but the company offers a number of "Signature" variants that have custom branding on various base products. I have already gotten all the base products in and was trying to think of a way to handle these variants off the base products. Essentially what I would like is to find a way to associate certain base products with certain "Signature series" and simply attach the custom branded product images. All options, pricing and such are the same. All there really is are a couple extra product photos showcasing it with the logos.
Is there are way to do this without recreating the products?
One thought I had was to look at CCK and add some additional fields to the products that I could then use to do filtering with Views, but I am thinking this would become very cumbersome. Any other ideas?
