i spent about an hour or more searching thru the forums for anything on affiliates. my conclusion was
1. there is no affiliate module
2. there is no common definition to the word affiliate
3. there is something that may eventually do the following:

an affiliate (to me) is a webmaster that signs up to sell one or more of my products via a link on his/her site for a share in the sale of the product.

in practical terms, i go to site X.com and find a picture of a product (with or without a title). by clicking on the picture, the link that opens is the shopping cart's status page on my site.

this is similar to amazon's affiliate program i believe.

the module that is similar is the uc_cart_links, but i have no idea if it will do exactly what i described above.

plus, the webmaster when he logs on the shopping site, must find the affiliate link in the product details, this requires a role called affiliate i guess.

so, the question is, will we see this feature? will it be any time soon?
