hi all, was wondering how does everyone do their stock level edits? right now you have to go into each one just to edit the stock. what i have been doing to speed up the process was login via PHPMYADMIN and just edit the table directly, but problem with that is that its listed by SKU's and you cant reference the item if its all in numbers.

was wondering is there a module for this already? would be good to list all the items and you can edit it from a single page.

Re: Easier way to do Mass Bulk Product Item Stock Level edits up

while not a solution, just another suggestion, what about using the product name in the sku? skus are just strings, and redbike can be a sku, there doesn't actually have to be a single number in a sku.

The uc_stock_update module could also help: http://www.ubercart.org/contrib/12428

Bulk stock updater

The uc_stock_update module requires you to use a CSV file. I've created a module (uc_bulk_stock_updater) which gives you an AJAX-powered stock editing system. See http://www.ubercart.org/project/uc_bulk_stock_updater

agreed, very nice. some sort of filtering for large numbers of SKUs would make this even easier to use. almost perfect for what it's designed to do (IMO)

I've added a small filtering field to http://www.ubercart.org/project/uc_bulk_stock_updater which allows you to filter the table rows when viewing all items on a single page.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Bulk stock updater

The filter works really well so far, very fast & flexible with either product names or SKUs. I need to add a bunch more products to my test site (currently 20 or so items) to make it more in line with my actual store (1500+ items), but it looks like this is going to be a HUGE timesaver. Everyday I need to update about 30+ items based on sales in our retail store, and the time spent just clicking thru to the edit tabs and the multiple page loads takes a big chunk of my time.

Hopefully others will pick-up on this project. I don't anticipate problems, but as Drupal PHP and MySQL are not my strong points it could be that I'm blind to something. Again I haven't noticed anything yet, I just have to be careful, broken too many things out of eagerness before.

Thanks so much for your work on this, and I really hope to get this onto my site soon.
