Are there any roles or permissions that need to be set to enable users who have purchased a digital product to have acces to download it? I have enabled uc_file module / download file for authenticated user. Is that necessary? Is there anything else (or instead) that should be enabled?

Re: Roles or Permissions for Download Products

I might be wrong, but I think that when customers check out, an account is automatically created for them. So it should take care of itself... but I might have misunderstood your question.

That should be the only permission you need to set. Are you having issues downloading product files?

Re: Re: Re: Roles or Permissions for Download Products

When a customer first tried to access the download he ordered through the email link, he got a message: "you are not authorized to access this page" I then enabled the uc_file module / download file for authenticated users under the User Management / Access Controls. This fixed that problem. I'm just making sure I didn't miss a setting somewhere else.

The Download Link worked fine in FireFox, but in Internet Explorer, the Download File box seems to just search for the file for a long time but never starts the download. This happened for me as well as the customer. Its 190mb, so that could be an issue. I will try it again with a smaller file.

Same problem - IE7 won't download

Did this ever get resolved and if so, how? I am having the same issue. The email arrives, but clicking the link with IE7 will not download the file - just hangs then eventually gives up. Firefox works fine.
