Hello UC,

D6.20, UC2.4.

It has been a couple weeks since I upgraded our site and today I was checking in on our Google Analytics and noticed that everything works as normal except for my entire Ecommerce which has completely flat-lined since the very day I launched the new site.

So my GA Drupal module is working just fine, my GA ID number is correct (I never changed any settings during the upgrade) and all my normal (non-UC) pages are being tracked to GA properly.

But I have lost all Ecommerce reporting on GA since the upgrade. When I visit my cart and checkout pages, the GA code is in the page and I can see the GA doman in my NoScript Firefox extension list of "allowed sites". So everything really seems to be in place...

So I just disabled "Google Analytics for Ubercart" and then re-enabled it, but it will take a day or two to see if it's working or not.

Is there something I am missing? Was there some additional step I was supposed to do during the UC1.x ---> UC2.x upgrade?

Thanks for the help!
BigMike

Re: Upgraded to D6.x and UC2.x, lost Ubercart Google Analytics f

I just noticed permissions for "use PHP for tracking visibility" for "googleanalytics module" for all users was disabled so I enabled it (is this needed?)

EDIT: I just checked on my old D5.x site and this permission was disabled there yet GA for UC was working. So that has nothing to do with it probably...

Download the -dev version of Ubercart. It was fixed after 2.4 was released. http://drupal.org/node/922230

Wow awesome! Thanks, I'm glad I asked -- I would have struggled with this one for a long time!

I have downloaded UC 6.x-2.x-dev and will install tomorrow.

Last Question: Is this safe to use on my live site?

Thanks

Okay everything is in place and I could upgrade to the development version. Is this safe for a live site that undergoes sales transactions?

Yes, we're using the Dev version on our site, everything seems okay.

If you prefer, you can stick with 2.4, but just apply the Google Analytics patch from the Drupal.org issue I linked you to. That way the only think you're changing is the GA functionality.

Thanks tP, I thought about that but then did a complete folder compare and viewed a ton of files and there are quite a lot of fixes that I thought would be nice to have so I just updated my entire UC Smiling

I do not want to use a DEV version on a live site. What else can I do?? This is horrible - cause I think its also impacting my google rankings cause google thinks no one is ordering!

There are docs on Drupal.org about how to apply patches (instructions available for Windows, OSX etc too).

Just use the dev version. There is nothing wrong with it in terms of security.

I don't know anything regarding the dev version and security issues, but I can say that we've been using dev versions for nearly half a year now without any trouble at all. Everything has been functioning as normal for us.

How long after upgrade to Ubercart dev

I just installed Ubercart 6.x-2.x-dev (2011-May-25) and I'm using it with Google Analytics 6.x-3.3. I've never had e-commerce tracking work for me on google analytics, but everything else works. I hope this allows me to have ecommerce tracking now. Can you guys verify that I'm using the right setup.

Also, how long will it take to start getting results. A couple of days now that these modules have been updated?

I saw it a few minutes after the test transaction

I saw it a few minutes after the test transaction.

Some data in GA appears almost immediately for me. Trick is that GA doesn't show the current days results by default so you need to adjust the date range.

similar e-commerce problem

Hello Everybody,
I also have a very similar problem with the GA and Ubercart.
The problem is that only roughly a third of all transactions is reported to GA. Mostly transactions which are made with pay-option "Bank Transfer" but also transactions with pay-option "PayPal".
Is anybody having a similar issue? Are there any solutions to this? I am using the dev version of GA and Ubercart 6.2 dev.

I would be glad if anybody has a solution to this!

Thank you,
Simon

Re: similar e-commerce problem

You probably need to do some debugging here and identify which payment methods are and aren't working, and what the discriminating factors are. From what you say it sounds like you have several payment methods enabled and are not sure which methods aren't recording data to GA?

GA adds debug code based on (1) paths you access through the checkout process and (2) based on the payment method implementing hook_ucga_display().

Knowing what specific situation doesn't result in recording data to GA will help you approach this more systematically.

A long track record of this issue

Sorry guys but this seems to blow in our face each time there is an Ubercart upgrade. This time updated to Ubercart 6.x-2.17
After upgrade Google analytics shows all data properly except for Ecommerce.

Can someone please explain to me how to debug this issue?

Thanks,

Uzi

UPDATE

Issue seems to affect custom page. I switched to default and will run more tests tomorrow.
