Hi. Is there a non-code hack way to change the default text that appears above the order comments text box. We'd like to add text like "if this is a gift item, please specify if we should include a packing slip ..." etc. It seems hard-coded?

You'll need to use a module like i18n or localizer which lets you adjust any string in a module when it's displayed. I don't have more specifics, as I haven't had to do that myself.
