Re: Taxable and Non Taxable products
When you set up your taxes, there is a list of checkboxes for each product class that has been set up. These are the the products that will be taxed by that particular rule. If you set up all of your taxes the same way in that regard, some of your product classes will be taxable and the others not.

How do I set up different product classes for different products? I can't find this anywhere. On my admin/store/settings/taxes/edit page, of course I currently only have "Taxed Product Types" with "Product". Could you please explain how to create alternative Product Types and then assign only certain products to this alternative type? Thank you very much in advance,

Have you read http://www.ubercart.org/docs/user/316/building_your_catalog, specifically Understanding Product Classes?
Re: Re: Lyle wrote:When you set up
I've already read this section, I am rereading it now. I just found an error in http://www.ubercart.org/docs/user/3339/basic_product_creation: "Dimensions for a product aren't required but may be used by some shipping modules to quote shipping rates from a carrier's web service. You should consult an individual module's documentation (if it exists) to see if this is a necessary field or not." This needs to be changed to "Dimensions for a product aren't required IN GENERAL but ARE REQUIRED by some shipping modules...." Once I enabled UPS for quoting, Ubercart would NOT allow me to save a product that did not have any dimensions: "Dimensions are required for custom packaging." I don't even know what "custom packaging" is but that is what I am using for my products. Mike

Ok, I am still not sure how this works, but thinking about my work around for the impossible flat rate shipping ability of Ubercart, I don't think this solution applies either. What I really need is to have an Attribute's adjustment be non taxable Is this possible??
Re: Taxable and Non Taxable products
