Hi,
After much study i have finally managed to make a very generic module that will update the cart quantity on checkout pages. It will use the Drupal's jquery support to update the cart.
Please review the same.
All you have to do is to enable the module for it to work.

greate module. quick fix: you

quick fix:
you forgot to remove the "remove" button for every item in the cart table.
instead of

  unset($form['panes']['cart']['cart_review_table'][0]['remove']);

use

  for($i=0;$i<count($items);$i++) { unset($form['panes']['cart']['cart_review_table'][$i]['remove']); }

remove print_r otherwise doesnt work properly

there is also a print_r statement which you have disable

print_r($qty);

make it

//print_r($qty);
