I am using the PayPal Payment Pro gateway and am trying to simulate a declined card but I can't get that result. I tried making up a card number, changing expiration date, CVV number, and the bill to address. I am wondering if the PayPal sandbox does not decline cards? Thanks.
I just tried using authorize.net to see if it would catch a fraudulent credit card. It did not...it shows the invoice as completed and the card charged for the total amount. Is there any way when testing a gateway to simulate a fraudulent credit card? I would like to show my client what it would look like and what would happen if the credit card was declined.
That sounds a bit dodgy if it's showing that the card was charged and the transaction approved. :S
So are you saying that paypal and authorize.net should not approve my made up credit cards? If so any ideas?
FYI to anybody that has this questipn. I asked paypal directly and this is what they replied with
'Due to the sandbox accounts not being tied to a live server there would
not be any way to truly verify a card. You will need to test your fraud
setting from a live setup.'
I was surprised to hear that this is how the sandbox was working. I wish they could test the credit card numbers so that my client could really test how ubercart was going to work.
