The product images in the special block should appear in a different size as the images in the catalog. It's for highliting these products in the special block and it makes theme look different and therefore they are an eyecatcher. Hey, if you know what to change let me know. thx.

Is this in a custom View on your site? If so, you can add a new image cache preset for altering images. Give it a recognizable title, like "special product image", and in your View you should be able to specify which image preset to apply to the image when it's displayed.
