in http://www.ubercart.org/downloads

Übercart + Drupal : ubercart.tar.gz : Use this link to manually download, install and configures Übercart to a new website.

What's the difference of installation in first screen ? I tried both type of installation but I can't see any difference.

Looks like that documentation page is wrong. Please post this as an issue in Issue Tracker (http://www.ubercart.org/issue) so that it will be seen by the people who can fix things.

You can use the Uberinstaller (http://install.ubercart.org) or install manually. If you install manually you will need to first install Drupal (http://drupal.org/) then install Ubercart (http://drupal.org/project/ubercart).

Both TR and the documentation are right. You can first install drupal, then install Ubercart which means going to two different websites, downloading two different files, etc. etc. Of you can just do it once by using the file in the documentation which combines the two steps into one.

Whiterain,
Which two types of installation did you try? The manual and automated ways do not install two different types of Ubercart, they are two different ways to install the same thing. Maybe I don't understand the question. Which two different ways did you try?

Specifically, the link at http://www.ubercart.org/downloads which purports to contain both Ubercart+Drupal packaged together, actually contains only Ubercart. This is what I think the OP was talking about, and why I said the docs were wrong.

OK, I just went to the link at http://www.ubercart.org/downloads I believe you are referring to. This link points to the url: http://install.ubercart.org/files/install.ubercart.org/package_builder/u... which is a file. I downloaded this file. I extracted this file and it created a directory named ubercart which contained an entire Drupal code base plus the Ubercart modules and an Ubercart install profile. I then went through the installation process and the end result was a Drupal installation with Ubercart modules enabled and ready. The next step was to create products and configure the checkout. What am I missing here? What makes you believe this link is in error?

I see. I was wrong.

I got fooled because the tarball extracts to one directory called ubercart, and the tarball is a file called ubercart.tar.gz, both of which are the same as the Ubercart-only distribution. I didn't look deeper into the directory structure to notice that Drupal really is in there too.

I guess I don't understand the original question then...

first screen in installation:

1 install Drupal
2 install Ubercart

I went to thу first way then went through the installation process and the end result was a Drupal installation with Ubercart modules enabled and ready.

I went to thу SECOND way then went through the installation process and the end result was a Drupal installation with Ubercart modules enabled and ready.

What's the difference ? Am I missing something ?

There is no difference in the end result. These are two different methods which lead to the same result. We offer a manual installation because some people don't trust us with access to their database, and we offer the automated install because it is easier. Either one should result in a basic Drupal+Ubercart installation.
Peace,

For what it's worth, I redid the Ubercart downloads section to remove duplicate information and provide a little more description with the links. This should clear up any trouble folks are having, though it's still not an in-depth description of all it takes to install. I hope the secondary links in there will clear that up.
