CANADA - PST calculations are wrong

Well I'm giving Ubercart (latest version) one more try and gonna do it slowly step by step. I almost most ZenCart setup the way I want it I but want something that integrates with my site and has good SEO.

I've set up my taxes PST 7% and GST 5%. I set up an item priced at $110 and disabled shipping to make it simpler.

This is what I get at checkout

Order total preview:
Subtotal: $110.00
PST: $8.09
GST: $5.50
Order total: $123.59

PST should be $7.70 and not $8.09 Total should be $123.20

If I set up both taxes at 5% then the PST is calculated at $5.78 and not $5.50.

Thanks

Arek,

I use to do international shipping as my day to day job, i left the field for the headache of Canada taxes. Anyways, the problem is how the taxes are set up. based on my calculations your PST is being figured on base plus GST. 110 +5.50 *.97 = 8.09 when rounded. Make sure they are set-up so they are not figuring on each other.

Check out this link

Try both taxes at the same weight.

Thanks for the info. In the tax set up I checked off Taxed line items: and checked Empty line which now makes the taxes calculate properly. Smiling

Now I need to figure out how to charge taxes on shipping properly.

Will report back.
