Hey all! Several clients want a single product to have multiple prices, based on role. (I.e. So they can give a person a wholsaler account, or somesuch, and charge them "cost" or closer to cost.) I haven't quite figured out how to do that- Could you guys give me a few pointers? I thought the thread on dual pricing would be the solution, but it only limits what's displayed by role, it doesn't charge different prices by role. Help?

I have the same issue

Hi. That's a problem, I've come around for a while. I need my dealers, when they log in, to have different price that the sell price. I'm looking for a solution too. Thought to use cost price here, and give my dealers rights to see it. Here the problem is, that they see it, but when they add to cart what they wanted, in the cart comes the sell price, not this that I wanted. I'll see if someone has a solution, and I'll write it instantly.

exact price

Hi, I'll look this module, but I'm not sure it will help. I need to give different price for roles, but not in percent or discount, just exact price. For every product I have different discount, and my database stores all prices for end sales and distribution.
Thanks, I'll think how to use this module

Ah! I didn't... But checking, the discount module hasn't been working in recent memory, so it's kind of useless.

Re: Re: Re: Dual pricing?

I haven't used it myself, so I can't say for sure, but that thread is only a month old, which seems to indicate to me that it's a viable solution. If there are problems with the module, they should be easily fixable.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Dual pricing?

I too am looking for dual-pricing, but to keep it simple I want to be able to choose whether the user gets "sell price" or "list price" (hopefully renameable) based on role. This way I wouldn't have to program a discount for each individual item, and also that there would be no "discount", it would just be one price from product page to checkout.

I am interested into making this into a module, unfortunately I haven't the foggiest idea what functions to override. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

List price for specific roles

Hi Jeff, I think you are on to something here. I too am going to need to be able to show a different price for a different role and I think that would be the easiest way of going about it as it won't involve percentages/discounts, and also won't involve any database changes.

Has anyone yet worked on something where display price is shown for normal users, and list price becomes the primary price for specified roles?
I imagine a configuration section whereby you tick boxes to select which roles see which price.

Thanks

Re: List price for specific roles

This sounds like something that Role Discount should be used for. An extension of that module would allow the shop to only show the calculated price for that role, and keep the "discount" persistent all the way to checkout.
