What are my chances of successfully updating Ubercart from 5.x-1.0-alpha8 to the latest release? I installed the first version as a demo for a client. While I wasn't looking, they built a store and they'd like to not enter all the data again.

Thanx

Re: Upgrading From Really Old To Latest Release

Depending on the modules you were using, a pretty good chance. If they haven't taken any orders, even better. Eye-wink It'll take a little time, but if you review the release posts for the intermediate versions, you should get an idea of any major changes that would affect the site.

Intermediate Steps

Should I apply each version or can I just apply 5.x-1.0 directly to 5.x-1.0-alpha8? It'll take all afternoon to apply each patch. I really wanted to spend Saturday afternoon doing something else. Smiling

Re: Intermediate Steps

jdclins - I upgraded from alpha 8 to 1.0 with no problems. It was a direct upgrade just overwriting all the alpha 8 files with 1.0 files. You should *hopefully* be fine.

It worked!

I just updated alpha 8 directly to 1.0 with no problems. This is great! I think a big part of this has to do with how well ubercart and drupal are developed. I've used other packages where any update would break everything. Keep up the good work guys.
