My host (hostgator.com) offers an installation of Drupal 6.2 (amongst many others). Being a complete novice to this stuff, it would be great simply to click their install routine and get it all set up, rather than to bend my mind around all the mass of information and attempt to install it myself. I saw the video tutorial about drupal 5 and Ubercart, but wonder if it is now out of date, and that ubercart will run on version 6.2.

I downloaded the Ubercart 1.0 (Deluxe) Package but am confused as to what I should do next as the video tutorial only covers installation of Drupal 5. Also the tutorial shows the site set up on a local computer rather than on a server. I unzipped the files locally but do not have the means to run PHP files as I'm using Vista. (Obviously I'm not a computer geek, but I should be able to work my way through an installation... I just wish I could do it in 5 mins like on the tutorial rather than scratching my head for 5 weeks).

I wish to have a good foundation for an online shop which will have the capacity to grow without needing to start from scratch again when I outgrow my current site-builder facilities. Any advice will be gratefully received.

Re: is Drupal 6.2 compatible with ubercart?

I believe as of right now Ubercart is built for Drupal 5.

A Drupal 6 version is currently under development but there it not yet a stable version.

Hope that helps you out.
